Published in Scrapbook Magazine

Hello and as it is only 6 sleeps to Christmas...Happy Christmas!

I was VERY VERY excited to have my work published in the Scrapbook Magazine (edition68) in November, a two page 3 layout spread! woop woop...

I was asked to take part in the budget challenge section of the magazine. Now, those who know me get that I like to used lots of embellishments on my layouts and so scrapping on a budget...not my favourite task, however that said, the chance to be in a magazine was fab!

The rules are to create 3 layouts using only the resources you can buy for £10.00....now in the UK scrapbooking tends to be expensive especially when like me you have a love for the big brands and gorgeous embellishments. You were not allowed to buy in bigger packs and say just cost the embellishments you used, so I decided to fall back on my love for fussy cutting. I decided on the range Alora from BoBunny as the patterns were great for fussy cutting and making your own embellishments. I also mixed it up with a layout from the Bo Bunny Little Miss collection.

This is what I brought :7 x 12x12 papers, one pack of Doilies, 2 x 12x12 pieces of cardstock, some twine, heart pegs and buttons.... total £9.94......this was achieved by buying from a online store with a sale and finding the accessories in various places on offer. I also had LOTS of bits left over and could have made more.... i also used various distress inksm stickles, glitter and glossy accents (my photo's don't really show them up well)

Sorry, for some reason the colours are a bit out!

Prima SunKiss Wedding Album

Hi, today's post contains a lot of pictures so hopefully you will not get bored! One of my best friends got married last year and I decided I wanted to do something special and scrapbook related for her gift, so i decided on a mini album of her wedding day. Her colour scheme was green and yellow and her flowers were sunflowers, the Prima Sunkiss collection seemed like a match made in heaven! The book i used was a 9x9 Bo Bunny Naked Binder, so the album ended up being a not so mini mini album!

At the back of the album i added another mini album which held photographs of the ceremony and readings.

I used mainly the Sunkiss Collection papers and embellishments. I also used some of her own ribbon from the wedding invites, jewels on the table, confetti and other keepsake bits from the wedding for embellishments. There are a mixture of the prima flowers as well as some handmade ones from myself using the SunKiss papers and material. I have used various distress inks (Tim Holtz), ink from Prima, and Tattered Angels mist sprays . I have also used crackle paints, acrylic paint, gesso and glossy accents. My friend prefers a more classic and simple look so i have kept the use of mediums to a minimum.

Hope you like and thanks for looking :)

Bo Bunny - Gabrielle number 2

My sister really liked the Gabrielle layout i made (see previous post) so i made her a similar one. I changed the layout slightly and used more of the blue tones (instead of the brown) to go with her front room as this layout was framed as a present.

Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers and embellishments, Prima flowers, Tim Holtz distress inks and crackle glaze, Glossy accents.

Bo Bunny - Gabrielle

I thought i would spend some time posting some of the layouts i have done and not got around to posting yet.

The first one is using the Bo Bunny Gabrielle collection which has been one of my all time favourites. This picture is one of my favourite pictures of my little girl Maisie, she just looks  so cute!

I used Bo Bunny papers, Prima flowers and Tim Holtz distress inks and crackle glaze for the butterflies.

Bo Bunny - White Space Challenge

This is my take on the Bo Bunny White Space Challenge. As i usually feel the need to fill every space on my page this was indeed a challenge for me and i kept having to remove things! I also decided as i was doing white space i would also attempt gesso and misting, another new one for me. The range i used was Alora, spray mists i used were tattered angels, blue sky and lemon zest. I used white gesso and the hearts at the bottom are white gesso mixed with Tim Holtz Citrus alcohol ink which i made to match the paper........i have no idea how people manage to make their paper stay flat after using mediums!.........

My Creative Scrapbook - Prima Sketch Challenge

The two of us....

This is a layout for the My Creative Scrapbook Prima sketch challenge. I love Prima and am always using their products so when I saw this challenge I thought I would give it a go! This layout is of my husband and little girl at Falmouth beach last year. It was her first time close to the ocean and she just stared at the sea in amazement. I wanted the layout to have a soft feel and used papers, materials, colours and distressing that I felt would be reminiscent of the ocean.

The Layout is mostly Prima, papers are Annalee as are the essential flowers which have been embellished with pearls and crystals, painted with white acrylic paint and distressed with Tim Holtz broken china ink. Flowers are from the Tea Roses collection, melody and Annalee collection, also used are crystal swirls, pearls and melody birds. Photo mats are soft hessian which is painted with white acrylic paint and distressed with Tim Holtz broken china, others mats are soft mesh material in sand and blue colours. The words are distressed with Time Holtz broken china stickles. The envelope is from Melissa Frances, painted and distressed and inside has journaling about the day. The papers are distressed and again inked with distress ink. The flowers and envelope are surrounded by pebbles and shells that were collected from the beach on the day buy my little girl.

Sorry for the poor photographing!
